I know it does not seem or feel like it, but Spring has finally sprung. The evenings are brighter, but unfortunately, we can’t say that about our weather. We at Sanctuary say it feels like an eternal winter it seems like its been one snow storm after another!
Well this lucky customer had the right idea and got there once dreary, mucky garden transformed with our amazing artificial grass, just in time for fingers crossed a brighter warmer spring/summer. The client had two large dogs and wanted something very hardwearing but yet wanted it to look as realistic as possible.
We did something a little different in this installation, the clients brief stated that she wanted a wall built to act as a flower bed in her garden instead of the traditional sleepers you see in most domestic gardens. We offer a light landscaping service with our artificial grass, but we couldn’t turn down this challenging task as that is what we thrive off here and we can’t deny we love a challenge.
The garden itself needed a full installation, typically approx 90% of the gardens we do will require this amount of groundwork. A full installation requires removing 5” of sod and soil. We will supply and install 3” of hardcore and 1-2” of sand/ quarry dust. A tantalised timberwork perimeter is installed, and the grass is then rolled out and nailed securely to the timber frame. Joins are done on the underside of the grass with a fiberglass tape/glue.
The above installation is required as this gives sufficient drainage and ensures that no weeds grown up through your new artificial lawn.
The client also went with our bestselling artificial grass “REAL”, it is the most realistic match to an Irish lawn in terms of colouring hence the name REAL. This grass is a medium to long length, 2 tone grass with dark brown thatch at the root. This is a very hardwearing grass, yet it is soft to touch.
The after pictures of the garden speak for themselves. The garden is now a lush green haven, with little maintenance and it looks divine. The wall really sets off the artificial grass and gives the garden that luxurious feel the client wanted to achieve.
